Services
Any hard surfaced court can be damaged. It can suffer from temperature cycles, water damage, poor installation, freeze/thaw, expansion/contraction cycles, and many other factors. Cracking, delamination, depressions, and puddles are the most common signs that your court needs repaired and our team of experts are prepared to restore your court back to its original beauty.
The Cost?
This depends on a variety of factors as you can imagine. If an existing court has not been cleaned, maintained, crack filled, or resurfaced on a regular basis, then the cost to resurface will likely be higher. If this is the case, additional prep, like vegetation and debris removal may have to be performed. This can take extra time, equipment, and chemicals, which of course mean a higher cost. Many courts also develop low spots, birdbaths, or areas that hold water and do not drain properly. Birdbath patching takes extra time, expertise, and acrylic patching materials. These factors can also increase the cost of repairing and resurfacing a court.
Crack repair and crack fillers are the lower cost option which is a short, temporary closure that will have your court back to a 'playable' condition in just a few days time. |
How Often?
Hard/Acrylic courts should be resurfaced every 4 to 8 years. This is a standard range with quite a few variables as you can imagine.
Crack repair and crack filling should be be repaired annually before crack conditions worsen. |
Maintenance Tips
As soon as you see cracking or other deformities, take action.
Surface Debris Removal - Remove all surface debris. Don’t let leaves, pine needles, or any other organic debris build up on the court surface. It will hold moisture, rot, and break down the acrylic surface coating. Trim the Edges - Be sure to keep dirt, grass, vegetation, and bushes trimmed and cleaned around the court edges. This will help prevent a back-up of water to allow for water drainage off of your court. Puddled water will break down the acrylic surface coatings prematurely, and result the need for more frequent resurfacing. Periodic washing – Light to moderate pressure washing of the surface with mild detergents will help to extend the surface life and keep the court surface looking good. |
